Serene Lake overlooks the scenic tranquil Dodanduwa Lagoon
with option of taking guided or self guided tours on the lake, with stopovers
at the Polgasduwa Meditation center and the beautiful Morakolla Temple. On the
lake you can see shrimp / prawn
traps, monitor lizards (varana), many birds and on occasion otters. The
surrounding neigbourhood has beautiful foot paths through lush
paddy fields, with a constant cool breeze. A four kilometer bicycle tour through
backroads along the Gin Ganga river
bank also provides the opportunity
to see some unspoiled verdant landscapes of southern Sri Lanka.
