Dodanduwa Lagoon has three locations that should be visited when doing the boat trip. Polgasduwa Meditation center, Morakolla Temple and Degalla Temple.
Degalla Temple
A older temple with character, with architecture reminiscent of the Dutch Colonial style seen in Galle Fort.. The temple paintings are not well preserved but can be seen that they are quite old. Compared to Morakolla Temple the bulidings have not been renovated and still maintain character.
Morakolla Temple
The more popular temple. Some of the artwork is old, but quite a bit of the buildings and statues have been renovated.
Polgasduwa Meditation Center
You cannot visit Polgasduwa without prior permission. However, a trip round the island either at sunrise or sunset will allow views of a great many birds that nest on the island.
